Black multilayer pipes with a manifold under a concrete ceiling

Geberit Mepla: multilayer pipe for drinking water and heating.

We design and install lines with Geberit Mepla, the multilayer pipe made of plastic and aluminium. Dimensionally stable like metal, corrosion-free like plastic, joined with press fittings: for distribution in commercial, residential and public buildings.

What we use Mepla for

01

Drinking water distribution

risers and floor distribution, hot and cold.

02

Heating connections

manifolds and connecting lines.

03

New build and refurbishment

for architects, construction companies and public bodies.

04

Tight spaces

the pipe can be bent and keeps its shape.

System and structure

The Mepla pipe has three layers: plastic inside, aluminium in the middle, plastic outside. The aluminium makes the pipe dimensionally stable and oxygen-tight, the plastic protects against corrosion.

Transitions to metal piping, for example to Geberit Mapress, are made with the manufacturer's system adapters.

Advantages

Mepla combines the advantages of metal and plastic.

  • Corrosion-free — no corrosion on the pipe wall.
  • Stable and bendable — fewer fittings, fewer joints.
  • Low weight — easy to install, including overhead.
  • No hot work — pressed, not welded or soldered.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is Geberit Mepla?

A multilayer pipe made of plastic and aluminium, joined with press fittings. It is used mainly for drinking water and heating lines in buildings.

What is the difference between Mepla and Mapress?

Mepla is a composite pipe of plastic and aluminium, Mapress a metal press-fit system (stainless steel, carbon steel, copper). We use Mapress for higher temperatures, pressures and larger sizes, Mepla for distribution inside buildings.

Up to what diameter is Mepla available?

From 16 to 75 mm outside diameter. For larger sizes we use Geberit Mapress or welded piping.

Who do you install Mepla for?

For architects, construction companies, public bodies and industrial companies. We do not work for private individuals.
