Pre-insulated district heating pipes with yellow end caps in a shored trench

District heating: pre-insulated pipes, properly laid.

We lay and install pre-insulated district heating pipes up to 110 mm diameter. Steel carrier pipe, thermal insulation and protective jacket form one pipe; the carrier pipe is welded by our qualified welders. For district and local heating networks, site networks and building connections.

What we use district heating pipes for

01

District and local heating networks

distribution lines for neighbourhoods and developments.

02

Site networks

heat distribution on industrial and commercial sites.

03

Building connections

from the network to the substation.

04

Heating plants

connecting the heat source in steel or stainless steel.

System and structure

A district heating pipe is a factory-insulated composite pipe: the steel carrier pipe inside, rigid foam insulation around it, and a plastic protective jacket outside. The heat stays in the pipe, even when buried.

As pipefitters, we connect the line to the heating plant, the substation and existing pipework ourselves.

Advantages

Pipe laying and plant connection from one company.

  • Low heat losses — insulated throughout, joints included.
  • Fast laying — pipe and insulation arrive as one component.
  • Welding expertise — the steel carrier pipe is welded by our qualified welders.
  • One contact — from the route to the substation.
Step by step

How we work

  1. Step 01

    Clarification

    medium, temperature, pressure and routing.

  2. Step 02

    Design

    route, sizing, expansion, parts list.

  3. Step 03

    Laying

laying the pipes, welding the carrier pipe, insulating the joints.

  4. Step 04

    Pressure test and handover

test report and documentation as agreed.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is a district heating pipe?

A factory pre-insulated composite pipe made of steel carrier pipe, thermal insulation and protective jacket. It carries heating water from the heating plant to the buildings with low heat losses.

How are district heating pipes joined?

The steel carrier pipe is welded. The joint is then insulated and sealed with a sleeve.

Up to what diameter do you lay district heating pipes?

Up to 110 mm diameter.

Do you also connect the line to the heating plant?

Yes. As pipefitters, we connect the district heating line to the heating plant, the substation and existing pipework in steel or stainless steel.

Which region do you cover?

Our focus is the Basel region: Basel-Stadt, Basel-Landschaft and the Fricktal. We also work in the rest of north-western Switzerland and in French-speaking Switzerland, for example in Geneva, Lausanne, Fribourg, Neuchâtel and Valais, and in Ticino by arrangement. We speak German and French.

Who do you work with District heating pipes for?

For industrial companies, architects, planners, construction companies and public-sector clients. We do not work for private customers.
